8:53 pm - new monitor... :-P
|
My monitor broke down yesterday for some bizarre reason...but luckily I got a new monitor that's like FIVE TIMES smaller!!!! So now I switched the setting to 800x600...and OMG...the screen is sooooooooooooo small (tears)
But finally I got to see my site as ppl with 800x600 do...hahhaha... ...
And my internet is totally screwed...which was good cos I FINISHED Brave New World!!! It's a really good book!!! Everyone go read it!!! :-D ...now onto 1984 ...sigh... ...maybe I'll get back into my writing mood sometime...and perhaps finish Goddess of Spite ...hahahahah... ...
I've been weird...during my breaks in reading Brave New World I started making earrings...like I will be actually able to wear them :-P ...and I made these really really cool ERIS earrings ...I still have to finish it... :-D ...better work on it...
although I have to write an essay outline...better do that first... ...

5:00 pm - I LOVE PHYSICS...cough...hahahh

After spending a few hours this afternoon at the library, I finally decided to head home. After wheeling my bike to a platform, I started to ride. BUT, there was no force...and the bike was not even moving. I tried once more, but the same thing happened. After careful observation, I realized the chain connected to the gear that rotates the wheel was not on the gear. (sabetage???) Preparing to fix it, I touched it. I was very nasty with it's oil and all, and plus it would be dangerous to stick my fingers in there...so I pulled out some pens and tried to fix the bike. I soon realised that I had to ply 3 forces on the chain with the pen...and two of the forces are directly opposite each other...which of course didn't work.
Then I pulled out an index card with my grade written on it. After spitting it into two pieces and using them as ropes to put outward stress in two different places, I finally managed to fix the bike. The whole episode took about 10 minutes.
From this neat little experience, I gained the following things:
- knowledge of bike anatomy...hahahha
- ripped index card
- a backpack now filled with index cards
- sabetage???
- 4 oily fingers
- the realization that physics is useful :-D
...which reminds me...got to wash hands... ... ...

10:12 pm - My Life...in 3 chapters of literature... ...

I have found my life!!! And it was fate that sent this to me.
We are reading Gulliver's Travels, by Jonathan Swift...and cos it's a summer class and we don't have much time, out teacher made us each read 30 pages and present it to the class...hahahh
We were put in groups and each group decide on the sections to read. I picked the first section of our group cos I don't wanna start in the middle of a story. It was the first 3 chapters of "A Voyage to Laputa, etc". Of course that title kinda rang a bell...but I didn't look at it that carfully. So I started reading it ...and OMG...it's LAPUTA!!! CASTLE IN THE SKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHH... and it's about how this kingdom is so scientifically advanced and everything!!! OMG!!!!

...and so I continue reading...and it's like... the kingdom is all math-y and scienc-y and music-y ...ahhhhhh ...and they are very poor mechanics and very clumbsy with doing stuff...and make mistakes in calculations... and they live in a FLOATING CASTLE!!!! me love flying :-D ...and they are great astonomers (well...I used to like astronomy :-P ) ...and they do a lot of physics concepts...and geometric stuff...and ...and... (breathe) ...IT'S SO ME!!! I am probably the only person in my class to actually appreciate this... and we have to present it tomorrow...so class, be afraid...be very very afraid... ...

SS started ... and we move so fast. We had to read 100 pages yesterday for hw...and 40 pages of poetry today... (tears) ...so much for the loads of time i'll have this summer.
I WALKED home yesterday!!! That's like at least 5 or 6 miles...

we had sashimi tonight...first in a long time :-D
it was really good...and I suggest EVERYONE to try it!!!
It doesn't taste THAT bad...but my suggestions are:
1) buy high quality, FRESH salmon ...you can tell cos the meat will be PINK...and not BROWN!!! ...it sure reduces your chance of getting sick :-D
2) cut it into thin slices with a CLEAN knife...do NOT use a regular meat knife...cos that might contain e-coli... :-(
3) eat it with soy sauce...preferably a high quality japanese kind...makes it very tasty...probably because of the MSG in it...hahahhahah
4) better yet, eat it with soy sauce and vinegared rice, all wrapped in dried seaweed... YUM YUM!!!
Anyways...I went to a mystery party yesterday...it was really cool!!! Every guest had a character to play, with different motives, goals, and knowledge...and they are on a ship while solving the murder of the captain...
I messed up pretty badly...cos I was quite clueless of what I was supposed to do...oh well... :-P
I TOTALLY changed my desktop appearence and stuff yesterday and today... (HAHAHAHAH...that's a song title!!! :-D DAI ROCKS!!!) It's a jpop theme...with a pic of Van Tomiko (DAI), Ayumi Hamasaki, BoA, and the girl from Every Little Thing as the wallpaper...a BoA AIM theme (I actually had 2...the first one had a bad background in the text box so I couldn't read the messages...but I dont' like one of the pictures on the new one I got :-P ...oh well) ...the only thingy I didn't change is the Van Tomiko (DAI) winamp skin ...hee hee

We went to St. Louis this weekend...cos we have friends there.
It was pretty fun! We saw the arch...but didn't go on it cos the line was too long. We did go to the zoo and the science center!!! ...the science center was a bit kiddy...but that's okay. It had lots of cool experiments...and I would go around saying the scientific explainations to my mom :-P

One bad thing I thought was that if I were someone who never seen the first movie or X-men in general before, I would be a little clueless in the beginning...like (highlight) at first Rogue and Bobby (Iceman) weren't able to kiss...if you didn't know what Rogue's powers were, you wouldn't understand...
But it's good...combining elements of action, mystery, fear, love, and sadness all in one...and of course it forshadows A WHOLE LOT!!! ...and also you can catch some of your favorite X-man characters ... (highlight) LADY DEATHSTRIKE DIES (WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...cry) She's so cool...but she's dead eternally...and she looks so bad in the comic...so she is only cool in the movie!!! ...there goes my temporarily favorite character...oh well...back to Storm now :-D ...hee hee
