Happy Friday the 13th [Friday 13 January 2006 | 12:40]

[x-posted ::creepi.gurl.(dot).com::]

13 - my lucky number. My day has gone surprisingly well...which is very
unusual for a Friday (being in charge of payroll tends to make payday
hell for me.) The storms predicted for today are just over the horizon -
I can hear distant thunder and the skies are darkening by the second. I
could feel the change in the air while Cro and I were on lunch
break...for some reason this put me in an exceptionally good mood.
Anyway...the storms will more than likely knock out the power to the
office (we're in an old grid) so we will more than likely get out early.
Hopefully we get to leave before the only form of egress is too far
under water to pass. Flash flooding and problematic standing water has
been predicted for this storm. Even in lesser storms this road has been
covered up...though I don't believe it was from rising creek water,
rather poor drainage and runoff seem to be the primary cause.
My primary email has been hit hard with spam lately...to the point I'm
losing messages amongst the spam. I did notice a few personal emails in
my spam folder but I have not had an opportunity to pull them yet. I'm
not ignoring anyone...I've just been insanely busy (and sick on and
off). As a matter of fact, I will be playing 'catch up' tomorrow by
putting in a few extra hours in the office *le sigh*

Testing LJXP [Sunday 08 January 2006 | 22:28]

[x-posted ::creepi.gurl.(dot).com::]

This post is to test LJXP (with slight modifications) and a mod of the same plugin (altered to post to DeadJournal simultaneously...DJXP ?).

This post was made via email sent from my SK II, updated using the Postie plugin triggered by a cron job.

If all goes well this post, which includes a pic of my dorky dog, will appear in my Wordpress blog (creepigurl.com), LiveJournal & DeadJournal.

LJXP needed only a few changes to suit me:
  • removed styling from linkback text

  • enabled comments for the LJ (& DJ) posts

  • duplicated plugin to allow posting to two different LJ based sites

  • turned of preformatting for LJ & DJ posts

  • set default LJ & DJ user pic for posts originating from WP

Otherwise ~ right 'out of the box' Evan's LJXP is a fabulous plugin to replace Live+Press for WP 2.0. It would be nice if I were able to use the WP categories as LJ/DJ tags in the x-posts...I'll look into it when I have some spare time.

[edit] Evan's plugin is working just as expected ~ all three sites will sync with each post made to creepigurl.com.

Monday Morning *Blahs* [Monday 05 May 2003 | 10:09]

[x-posted ::creepi.gurl.(dot).com::]

Why do weekends have to be sooo short? The ratio of working days to non-working days is just wrong. It's probably the weather ~ but I can't shake this overwhelming feeling that something bad is going to happen today. Thus the blahs.

This past weekend was pretty fun. It started off with a bang on Friday ~ Sins of Lust at 9 Lives. They, of course, rocked. Somehow they did not place first in the contest...odd since they by far had the most audience participation. Since the winning band seemed to have won by ballots alone popular consensus is the ballot box was stuffed. Feh. Soon after SOL left the stage we left the place. We tried sitting in the other room with the bar but the noise was beginning to get to us. We blew off the circus at the Chamber and headed to R's party @ Convent. I love that place. Friday night was full of lots of familiar faces and much fun.

Saturday's original plans were a wash out. We picked up Kary and headed south to the Rennie to meet up with [info]gothkitten001. While we were traveling the sky opened up and rain fell by the barrel full. Lightning, thunder, high winds ~ the works. Not exactly prime conditions for wandering around an outdoor festival. Kitten was running a little late so we waited in the parking lot for her. I spied a car pulling into the lot that looked like hers ~ but it was soon dismissed when we saw a girl in a hoodie and khaki pants get out. So we sat. We waited. About 20 minutes later Kitten calls us from inside the fair. It turns out she was the khaki clad figure dashing through the mud. Who knew? The three of us climbed out of the Jeep and sloshed through the mud to meet her inside...only to get 'rain checks' and leave within minutes of walking through the gates. The weather was awful and it did not seem like it would clear up any time soon ~ as a matter of fact it was beginning to rain even harder.

After much procrastination we headed further south towards Newnan (the closest theater) to watch X2 and grab a bite to eat. The weather completely cleared up and it was absolutely gorgeous by the time we reached the theater located in the middle of nowhere. Hee hee...now that was an experience. To say we stood out from the crowd would be an understatement ~ even though we were donning 'everyday' garb. We grabbed a late lunch at a sports bar / bowling alley next to the theater ~ Beef O'Bradys (how's that for a name ;-p) Over-cooked burgers and a gazillion televisions running simultaneously does not make for the most pleasant dining experiences but the company was thoroughly enjoyable. Kitten has a couple of pics of the group on her dig cam.

X2 was freaking great. Night Crawler was beautiful...I think I want to dye my boy blue and carve angelic runes in his skin ;-p I left the theater wanting to see the movie again...soon. Heheh ~ I have to agree with Chris about large Russian men in boxers...

Sunday Scarecrow and I attempted the Rennie again. The two of us had a nice time wandering around eating and shopping. Fried turkey legs *yum* greasy goodness at it's finest (or is it worst?) As far as shopping goes ~ Scarecrow is getting the leather 'claws' he has been wanting for a while now...as soon as they are dyed black. I picked up a parasol to match my HG Chinese style dress and to ward off the evil sun (still managed to get a slight burn even with spf 50 slathered on every bit of exposed skin.) We ran into a number of friends enjoying the fair ~ [info]tbrents was the first to approach us (I was blinded by the sun for the first hour until my eyes adjusted ;-p) It was a pleasant surprise to run into [info]gumboot and her handsome son. Candi was sweet enough to take a picture of Scarecrow and me (covered in powdered sugar from our funnel cake ;-p) Scarecrow snapped a couple of pics while we were out...mostly of the poor captive condor on display in one of the shows.

After we left the fair we stopped by Scarecrow's Aunt and Uncle's house since they were on the way home (just in time for delish grilled burgers *yum*) His cousins heard that he was stopping by the house so they showed as well. Such a nice group of people =) I felt like a giantess...I was head and shoulders over the next tallest person in the house (aside from Scarecrow though.) I think it was because my excessive height was pointed out several times (and I was wearing relatively low heeled boots ;-p)

Then it was back to the house to take care of the menagerie and get ready for the work week.

Speaking of which I really should get started on the whole 'work' thing...blah. At least Cinco de Mayo (perfect excuse to fill up on greasy Mexican food and margaritas ;-p) and the Covenant show will break up the work week monotony *grin*

edit: With thanks to [info]gothkitten001 here's a pic of the four of us cowering under the Bud banners in the skeery sportsbar/bowling alley

the beautiful people... [Friday 05 July 2002 | 09:24]
[ mood | hungover ]
[ music | carbon 12 - parasite ]

It's about time I update this thing *grin*
I'm cheating for now though ~ I copied this entry from my LiveJournal
Last night freakin' rocked! I met many beautiful people ~ including C and her boyfriend J ~ I've seen her around but never had the courage to go up to her. I'm so glad she approached me ~ we stood around the bar talking and talking. I may have a slight crush on her *grin* I ran into several people I've lost contact with over the years (it's been almost 6 or 7 years since I've seen K or T), finally met thunder_muffin hexgirl13 in person. They were both so nice to talk to and their pics do not do them justice ~ both very exquisite in person. Scarecrow's union buddy Rob was there with his lovely girl Jamie. Chris from HT was there wearing a great stripey outfit. His band is playing @ the end of the month-a must go... Oh ~ and Destiny was there! We haven't seen her in over a year. She is doing great ~ I'm so glad. Scarecrow and I were worried about his little sis. She seems to have her life in great order and is very happy. Of course she was as beautiful as ever.

Genitortures put on an excellent show. I haven't enjoyed a performance so much in ages. It was great seeing Corwin & T performing as well. Scarecrow was fantastic in the pit ~ he made a fast friend with the guy he was pounding on. Seriously ~ they were talking like old buddies in the hall forever and then again in the parking lot on the way out. Odd creatures men are *grin* We had our cd autographed by Gen after the show (cheesie, I know.) She mentioned to Scarecrow that she saw him in the audience and that she had trouble keeping her eyes off of him. She hit on my Boy!! Very cool...he was flattered. How could she help but to notice him? He is a beautiful man, very striking, stunning.

We went to the Chamber for the afterparty ~ Marcella was running the door. I haven't seen her since D's birthday! I am so bad at keeping in touch with people. She and I have the same breed of dog (from the same breeder.) Her puppy has a problem with his elbow so we were discussing the different therapies and options we knew of (it's amazing how delicate this giant breed of dog is.) I have to remember to call my vet and ask about her dog ~ he is very knowledgeable about giant breeds. While we were talking Scarecrow made another friend at the door ~ Skip I believe his name was. We went in and saw C dancing so we went to that side of the club. When Scarecrow pulled a stool up for me and I sat pretty much for the first time all evening I realized just how tired I was ~ beginning to pass beyond punchy. My memory gets a little fuzzy around this point ~ did I say or do anything I should regret? We stayed for a little bit ~ until it struck Scarecrow that he had to be at work in 4 hours. Before we left we saw W ~ she had the most beautiful new braids in her hair. She always looks fantastic ~ but these braids were especially stunning. We found C & J to say our goodbyes...

Of course the requisite cheese eggs were in order ~ off to WaHo for an early breakfast. I love it ~ I asked for extra cheese and when I got my plate there was a huge serving of melted cheese with eggs peeking out here and there. Mmmmmm...love WaHo greasiness.

We made it to the interstate by the time I decided I just couldn't take one more minute in that ultra snug pvc sausage casing I was wearing. I was soooooo hot in that thing ~ temperature wise. Atlanta does not have a summertime climate conducive to the wearing of pvc.

Jeesh ~ I'm still slightly tipsy I think. Nah ~ just very hungover. I'm having trouble forming complete sentences =) The only reason I am out of bed at the moment is my Why dog. It seems the cat crossed the line ~ he was drinking out of Why's dish. Why tried to defend her property by barking at the cat (oh~ and what a LOUD bark it is) but the cat stood his ground. Very brave for a ten pound cat to confront a 150 pound dog in such a way. Brave or just plain silly ~ the little rat.

Ack~ I'm going back to bed until the room stops spinning.

[ mood | frustrated ]

It's been ages since I've used this journal...I'll have to back up my LJ to this thing sometime soon...maybe next time I'm "sick".

Today wasn't particularly bad. Our section of the office was very kinetic...I couldn't even catch my breath before something else dropped in my lap. Scarecrow rescued me, though. He called my office around 12 "I was in the area and I was wondering if there was anything I could do to make your day better?" Ahhh...I was so ready to get out of that place...if even only for a few minutes. I grabbed my bag and bolted down the steps into the waiting Jeep. We had a nice little coffee chat...just what I needed to wind down enough to keep from blowing my top at work.

Work...grrrrrrrrr. So many problems coming to a head lately...our conversion did not go as smoothly as we had hoped. Our consultant ignored our wishes and coded several accounts improperly. Eeeeesh...what a nightmare! The topper ~ we are merging two of our companies (Charlotte & the main Atlanta sr) which means reformatting, etc. etc. etc. etc. Who gets the bulk of the work for this project? Our department of course.

I think I am going to drag Scarecrow down to the springs this weekend...I could do with a few days on the boat. He's been under a lot of stress lately...there is so much going on in our lives right now. Home life has become just as hectic as our professional lives...eesh...

The lawn mower has stopped running and I promised I would make dinner tonight...gotta run.

It's finally here!! [Friday 01 March 2002 | 18:07]
My new belly jewelry arrived today...

The baby spider is kinda cute, huh?

Scarecrow is once again engrossed in Diablo II. He's fighting cows at this moment...some board he has reached on the game is full of combatitive cows armed to the hilt. The "moo-ing" is getting to me...make it stop!

As soon as I can pry him from the game we'll hit the gym. I'm not sure what are plans are for later on tonight but I'm not sitting around waiting for him to disconnect from his PC.

Pssssttt... [Friday 01 March 2002 | 14:33]
[ mood | devious ]

...can you keep a secret?
I just got a new toy for Scarecrow...something he's been wanting for awhile. As a matter of fact just this afternoon he was moaning about how much he really needs one...how everything would be so much better if he could just get his hands on one...
Now unless he sneaks a peak at my journal he'll just be so surprised when one appears as if from nowhere! Until then he'll have to keep moaning... ;)

I'm sooo sleepy...we stayed up late last night to watch Evil Dead ~ Book of the Dead Limited Edition. This edition comes packaged in a replica of the book of the dead in the movie ~ made to look/feel as if it was made of human skin. Kinda nifty ~ then again I like gimmicky stuff.

Case for Evil Dead Limited Edition DVD

We found the DVD on sale (it's not due out for release until next Tuesday) while we were hunting for more Living Dead Dolls (found 3 series 2 @ $12 ea. =)

The smell of paint fumes fill the showroom, sounds of hammering and sawing echo off of the walls, flash bulbs popping, people running to and fro with lamps & furniture...I completely forgot about the RLG opening!! That explains the mad house this morning. There are a couple of artists from RLG's studio painting in the "fishbowl" (glass enclosed "room" in front of the showroom). Palmer is "fluffing" the showroom...he does wonders with our showroom, TKS is coordinating it all. I believe this is all coinciding with the opening of our new shop next door (well two building over.)

These events are one of my favorite things about working here...getting paid to eat tasty finger food and sip on merlot...just doing my duty as a representative of H&C =) We are going to have quite a few of these events in the next few months between our four companies...well at least three of them will be involved.

Well ~ Scarecrow is here...time to go to RuSan's...

Acckkk!!!!
I am never coming in late again! I had an appointment this morning so I did not arrive in the office until about 11:30AM. It was like walking into a mad house during a full moon. I just wasn't prepared for it...I was still in morning mode and everyone else was getting riled up about lunch. I had so many e mails marked "urgent", I postponed completing any of my forms until the due date (today), etc. etc.

Oddly enough I enjoy this kind of push...
